Sequence Dresses On Thinking Thursdays

Okay, here it is. This dress is just stunning, and Sequence dresses and shirts are extremely in these days, however after continous shopping for the perfect sequence dress, and constantly trying to put it on in the fitting rooms trying to make it look right I realized this trend just ISNT fair. And, I have seen this look on numerous woman and to be honest - it really doesnt look that good. I realized this a trend that your average woman just CANT pull off. This is an ON RUNWAY look exclusively. Models only! So unfortunetly, as much as I love the look, it just doesnt work. What are your thoughts?

Food Styling.. Yumm!

Food styling was my next project in class. We were told to build a concept and photograph the food item we choose to do it on. I choose bread, the simpliest yet most important and vital food in our lives. I tried to bring the simplicity of bread to a new level and portray it in a romantic afternoon snack. These one of kind sunglasses are all the rave this season for menswear. The robot looking shades bring a bit of punk to your manly look. These look amazing with regular jeans, your funkiest t-shirt and a fuzzy zip up.

I decided that this blog needs to have more of a theme, therefore thanks to my good friend Chaim J, I will be doing one blog post a day with a theme for each day. The blog will be laid out as follows;

Men's Mondays - I will dive into one item that is related to mens wear. Its good for you ladies to know as well, to dress your man.

Celebrity Wednesdays - I will write about one celebrity a week, their style; whats good, bad, and what to take or not take from it.

Friday and Saturday are my only vacation days so I will have to take a break and rest. (And come up with new, fun and exciting things to blog about!!)

For All You Tom-Boys

Watch out Sporty Spice - your look is finally happening! I'm personally more of the girly type, but the latest fashion trend is sportsy, tom-boy yet flirty look. You can work this look any way you want but mainly whip out those workout outfits and spice em up a bit with a cute hat, or long necklace to give it that feminine kick. Throw those cute but kinda sweaty sweats with a jean jacket and scarf for a night at the movies or even short shorts for running, with a cardigan and strappy sandle heels for the night look.

Jeans The Word

Jean Jackets are taking the fashion world by storm. There are endless options of how to wear them, but use your imagination on this one. Firstly make sure you buy one that fits and isnt baggy, and make sure you can roll up the sleeves a bit for that "feel good" look. Pair it up with short shorts and a wifebeater tank top, or let it sit with a beatiful v-neck maxi dress (long dresses to the floor).

These bad boy platform pumps are taking away the winter blues and brining in the summer hotness! Rock these with pretty much anything; leggings, an elegant dress, jeans; anything.

Red Lips. What a look! For me, not such a success but try and rock it with a elegant dress or even summer dresses! This month try a more pinkish red instead of deep dark red, for the spring look.

The latest look is ripped jeans. Just throw them on with just about anything and will look like a million bucks. A million bucks that can't afford to sew up your jeans. Not the point. Rock this look with a baggy t-shirt and vest or the cant-loose outfit with a wifebeater.

My choice; dark jeans, v-neck t-shirt and grey cardigan or blazer depending on what it's for. Ladies; they have some lovely designs for women, or even rock these bad boys as a gift for you guy.

Thats right, LBD - little black dress. Every woman needs one, and this one is just my type. Elegant yet cute and to top it off, pair it up with thick black tights and rockin black pumps.

My First Project: The Makeover

Thanks to my lovely, beautiful friend Tamar Brooks, I was able to succeed in my first big project at school to do a styling makeover. The point of the project was to take a friend or relative and give them a new look, take them outside their box and style them differently then they usually would. Plain and Simple. Not Exactly but it can be. Skinny pants have never looked better, with the exciting new patterns, you can match them with a baggy t-shirt and jean jacket or even those bad boy blazers, for an amazingly trendy look. Try to stick with light colors to brighten that girly look.

Catch the latest Elle's surf inspired accessories collection and rock out with the latest straw fedora hat and tie-dye bangles for the beach this weekend. Goes great with the simpliest of dresses, and even better with jean shorts and a white tank top. Think: SURFER GIRL. They are always hot and never go wrong.

Knee High, Sky High

Raise 'em high! Last season it was the knee high boots, now its the socks. This look goes with pretty much everything, besides jeans obviously. But if your gonna try it out I suggest a short dress or skirt to show off those flirty legs.

Go to your local Shoppers and grab the latest color for nails; Grey! It seems a bit dull but its the perfect blend between winter and spring. I would jump on this one as soon as possible because before you know it, the leaves will change and so will the latest nail trend.

Alright, set aside her amazing hair and everything else that is amazing about her (in my opinion) and focus on the scarf. Although the winter is coming to an end; have no fear, the nights are still here. These wrap around scarves are just great with a light coat, and an accessory that only helps your outfit without making it look like too much. Find it at your local TopShop or Pull&Bear for a very reasonable price.

Do As The Hollywood Stars Do

It's a tricky look but when it works, it works well. I would stick with black tights, you can go thick or thin on the tights and baggy jean shorts that dont hang too long. In regards to leggings, if you want to wear those, make sure they are ankle leggings. Keep the top simple and low key. Goes with heels or flats, you choose :)

Floral Me

Light up your closet with a florally dress for the upcoming hot summer days. Add a cute headband and simple strap up sandles for a fresh look.

Just Cant Get Enough

These "Resevoir Dogs" sunglasses have been the look for a couple seasons already. Rain or Shine these Ray Bans NEVER FAIL. Grab a pair and keep them for years!

It's All About Confidence

This is the most important accessory you can own. Confidence. When it comes to being in style you have to trust your instinct and just be confident that you look great. Remeber that fashion is a form of expression and if you're feelin it, wear it!

Keep Those Boys Close, and Their Blazers Even Closer

I gotta tell ya ladies, this is something you gotta whip out the big bucks for but is SO worth it. It's called the boyfriend blazer because the size should be a tad bigger than you would expect but this is something that goes with pretty much everything and is a guarantee eye opener. Put it over a cute simple solid coloured dress, or wear it with jeans and a wifebeater. Dont be scared if your short and think it might look stupid because if you do it right, nothing looks stupid.

Slither Like A Snake

Belive it or not, these are in! I'm pretty sure this is a look inspired from the 80's when people had the funkiest jewelery. Either way, when passing by those creepy side stores take a look and try to find animal inspired rings or clawish braclets and dont be afraid to slap 'em on with a nice elegant dress for a dangerous look that can kill. (not litterely)

Madonna Is Still Rockin It

Lovin the Bows! Honestly, this is where your creative side needs to kick in. Ever keep pieces of fabric cuz they were too pretty to just throw out? Now is your chance to create the perfect bow headband and rock the newest look. Okay, I'll admit it probably won't turn out like this model but give it a try, you never know how awesome it will look with your skinny jeans.

Well Ladies, we are all familiar with those days when we just want to throw on a pair of sweats and call it a day. Now, you can do it in style. That's right.. Baggy Pants are in. Well more like Baggy crotch pants. Either way, grab a pair and throw 'em on with a cute cardigan or tight t-shirt and in regards to shoes - if your looking for an easy going outfit wear tennis sneakers and if your looking to be a bit girly I suggest strappy heeled platforms or sandles.

Two Words: Peter Som. A designer who I could NEVER afford but aspire to copy. Born and raised in San Fransisco, he has worked with some of the top designers like Calvin Klein and Michael Kors, and designed outfits for many celebrities in Hollywood. His Spring 2010 line is full of sun, color, happiness and liveliness. Check out his website for some great spring fashion tips. This is one of his amazing designs that makes my heart melt.

Thats right! The moment you've been waiting for. Beige is in and taking off. Try to make the best of this one. Look into your closests and pull out those old school skirts, shirts etc that made a stand in the 90's, they are back in. I suggest going with a beige trench coat or dress because it looks good on everyone and helps flatter that summer tan.

Newest Hair Style - Long Side Braid

For all you long haired women out there.. dreading about cutting your hair for the hot summer sun? Have no fear the braid is here! The side braid is taking a stand, and now's your chance to save those locks of love. Make sure its to the left of your head, and any kind of braid will just about do.

First Topic: Buying Something That Is Too Small

Lets be honest, we all do it. But the other day in class, a girl mentioned that she buys articles of clothing that are one or two sizes smaller so that she has a goal, so that she has what to look forward to when she looses the weight she has planned to loose. My thoughts are that, yes we should all be healthy and be eating right etc but there is no need to buy clothes too small to have something to look forward too. I say, be happy and stick wit what your mama gave you. Unless of course you look like this lady.

The JumpSuit

Step Aside Mechanic Man, your outfit is being taken over!I'm the one on the right in the jean jumpsuit (Hey Ro!) This buy was a trial for me, it's a bit RISKAAAY, as they say but I think it worked just fine. Did the trick because I needed to be able to dance but also be comfortable and cute. Any jumpsuit will work, if your looking for one but I suggest, since were not 6"3, tall and blone.. well not most of us.. make sure its the right cut and fit for your body cuz it can soemtimes be mistaken.

Hello Beautiful Ladies

I started this blog as the first step in pursuing my Styling Path and to begin to get my name out to the world. Or at least to the Israeli world (for now). I am currently taking a course in Styling at Concept- Academy of Design in Tel Aviv. It's a 6 month course where we dive into the world of Styling. This includes styling in Personal Shopping, in Adverstising, in Fashion Events and much more. And I hope to one day become a Stylist of my own and make a stand in Israeli Fashion as a "new immigrant" to this country, with the touch of my North American side.

A little bit about me: I am originally from Canada, born and raised by Israeli parents. I was born in Montreal but spent my good years in Toronto, attending a Jewish Modern Orthodox Day School and Highschool. I then started on my journey to Israel where I spent one year in Seminary learning Judiac Studies and touring the Land of Milk and Honey. I then moved on to Bar Ilan University where I recieved my Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. I am now currently graduated and working at a hedge fund in Herzilya and pursing my dream at nights to become a stylist.

This blog is my way of coming out into the fashion world and getting myself known. I have always had a passion for fashion (as Fashion Television puts it), just never thought I would take it anywhere till I realized I can have a great future in it.

My Goals are to take your average woman, learn her lifestyle and transform it through clothing, accesories, hair and makeup into an even greater version of herself. To show people that, in the most unmaterialistic way, one can uproot her life just by making the smallest adjustments to her closet. To teach my clients that you can go that much further in life when you feel good and look good.

Firstly; I would like to offer my services for a very fair, reasonable price to my first few clients to try out my technique and my style.

As well as, I would like to provide tips and suggestions to your questions on outfits to work...events.. or your every day look, over this blog.
